Be A Part of YAC This Summer at YCDC

Tired of adults telling you what to do?

Be part of creating a youth centre for youths by youths!  YCDC’s Youth Advisory Committee is comprised of youth ages 13-19 who want to have their voices heard in the Greater Trail Area.  As members of one of the three committees – the Skatepark Committee, Hands and Feet Team and Youth Speak Out – youth gain leadership skills by creating new opportunities, activities and events for their peers.

The Skate Park Committee

Help build awareness around skateboarding and help with fundraising efforts to help get a skate park in Trail!  The Committee has been hugely successful, selling “Skate for the Park” t-shirts and giving presentations to City Council.  Help make history and help Trail finally get a park!

Hands and Feet Team

Under the Hands and Feet umbrella, you will have the opportunity to get involved with

planning all sorts of different activities here at YCDC.  Whatever you want to do, we will make it happen!

Youth Speak Out

Gain valuable leadership skills and network in the community as part of the Youth Speak Out Committee.  Represent youth voices and give feedback to local organizations around how to better serve youth.  Youth Speak Out can do anything from give a presentation to BC Transit to creating monthly discussions on global issues around town.  You name it and we will create it… together!

How do I get involved?

Contact Tasha @ YCDC for more information.  We’re always bringing on new youth to help out and start planning fun things for youth to do.  Meetings are held weekly or bi-weekly, depending on schedules.  Come out and be a part of making change happen in the Greater Trail Area.
