Open Mic Summer Series
With our friends at Clive’s Coffee Bar and DeciBel Sound, YCDC brings you an Open Mic Night held on the last Friday of the month (Starting up again in January 2011). So far we’ve had a great turnout and it keeps getting better. Come down ready to sing, play, read poetry, do some comedy, spoken word or whatever you like! This is an all ages, all abilities community event and our hope is to have performers that represent all demographics at each Open Mic night. So come down and check out some awesome homegrown talent.
Open Mic nights are held at Clive’s Coffee Bar in downtown Trail. Owner Bryan Lauzon is an ally to youth in the community and we thank him and the staff at Clive’s for providing this safe space for youth. Although entry is free, you might not be able to resist the delicious treats and yummy drinks – so bring your spare change!
We are lucky to have Stew Ford and Newton Szabo, co-founders of DeciBel Sound, to help us with the sound equipment at Open Mic nights. Stew and Newton are huge supporters of youth, art and music and they created DeciBel Sound to create an outlet for young musicians in the Greater Trail Area. The guys from DeciBel Sound generously donate their time, energy and passion for music to YCDC and we thank them for their continued support. Please check out DeciBel Sound’s website and what they offer at www.decibelsound.ca.
