YCDC would like to thank everyone who came out to support the Beaver Valley in moving forward with their Community-Directed Youth Funds. It was great to see so many enthusiastic youth and community members.

Trail and Warfield will embark on this process sometime in May, so stay tuned for up to date info so you can have your say in how this $100,000 from the Columbia Basin Trust should be spent over the next 4 year period on enhancing programs and opportunities for youth ages 12-19.

Lunch or Dinner will be FREE and the hours spent at the workshop will count towards Grad Hours for J.L. Crowe students.

 Monday is still Movie Night from 7-9pm and Wednesdays are Junior Movie Nights for youth ages 13-14.

 

Wednesday is Drop In and Open Art Studio from 6:30-8pm.

Spring is just around the corner so if you have some ideas as to what you'd like to see happening in the community give me a call so YCDC can try and make that happen.

YCDC will be organizing another Flash Mob to celebrate the International Day Against Homophobia on May 17th, so if you'd like to get involved be sure to give me a call or send me a message on Face Book.

Redefining Beauty will be starting up again in April for female youth in grades 10-12. This program offers girls an opportunity to talk about issues that matter to them in a supportive and fun environment. This group fills up fast so make sure you keep your eyes open for start dates in the paper, on YCDC's Face Book Page and in the Trail Daily Times.

YCDC is always looking for youth to get involved with The Skate Park, so if you or someone you know is interested in getting involved in this project give YCDC a call. It is an excellent way to get involved with the community and an opportunity to be involved with a project that will be enjoyed for generations to come.

 

 

 

 

YCDC will also be reinvigorating the Youth Action Committee (YAC), which provides youth with the opportunity to get involved in shaping the community around them as well as what goes on here at YCDC. Getting involved with YAC is an excellent way to gain experience for your resume or college applications while having fun and making positive changes happen in the community.
